I was talking to a guy at work and he builds dirt track chassis and was bragging up bend tech pro. Said its easy to use and works great. I watched a couple tutorials on youtube and just watching 10 minutes of videos I was already understanding it. Anyone ever use it? What do you think of it? Also if someone was to get bend tech which one would you want ez, ez 3d or pro. What ever I get I dont want to outgrow it. Im wanting to design my new chassis I plan on building this winter. It would be nice to have it designed on the computer first.

I have Pro. It takes a few hours of messing with it to figure out how to navigate the controls but it's really no big deal. The instruction manual is real good. I would suggest reading through the whole thing and doing the tutorials it provides.
The more expensive programs are designed to work with CNC equipment so Pro will do everything that we need. I think the cheaper ones were missing a few cool options like 3D rotation.
Here's a few pics of a cockpit I drew up after messing with it the first day.

Thats a good looking chassis :****: Pretty cool after first day you can do that. Who has the best price on pro? Seems like its about 275 everywhere.

This is what the pro can do that ez 3d can not do. Notching would be nice to have, not sure what assembly design consists of? dimensioning im assuming is just telling you over all length, width, height of frame?

Rotational input for Custom Part x x x
Assembly Design x x x
Dimensioning x x x
Cutting (fish-mouthing) x x x
Built-in Spring Back Charts

Correct. You can also enter in weight per foot and it will calculate the total weight of the completed chassis.
I got my copy off of ebay for $275. Seems to be the going price.

I think if I get anything I just need to get the Pro. Im sure I will regret it if I dont.

wyatt's A hole dumb luck having ass got the tubing attachment for his torchmate table thrown in for free because of a huge discount sale he didn't know about
I keep telling him, with the marker, tube attachment and some software, he could go out, mark the start of bend and center line of bend, cope the end where its cut off and take it to the bender, put it in on center and start and bend out of plane pieces that were already coped.
Lot of cool **** if you dont like (can only afford) doing it the old way

and now if I would just have the time to get it all put together and start using it.

I have SE and don't ever use anything beyond the Pro capabilities. I should have just got Pro.

Once you get good with Bendtech you will wonder WTF you ever did without it. It becomes one of those essential tools that you can no longer do without. I won't even bend tube anymore without it.

They do sell a Solidworks attachment for SE that allows you to import the files you make with Bendtech into Solidworks. I'm a Solidworks junkie and I hope to get that someday. If I do it will have made SE worth it. (Yes, I know how to do tubing with SW alone, its just 20 times easier and faster with Bendtech.)
