Best Harnesses?

Xwhatever on the crows w/ built in pads. They are way comfortable. I've been getting in the habit of wearing my shoulder harnesses every time I get in my rig, and they built in pads make all the difference in wanting to wear them or not.

I personally don't like the camlocks. I had a female pass riding that I harnessed into another rig I had. I thought I got the camlock locked, we flopped a few minutes later and they ended up coming apart. With the latch style, I know they are locked, and don't have to worry about it.

X2 on both of Travis's posts, dead on. You should wear your shoulders all the time, built in pads makes that easy. The latch system leaves no room for error

Also with what MattO and Travis said...the Camlocks arent as reliable for what we do because the moisture and dirt can jam up the locking mechanism. Probably why Travis had the issue he did. Not a fan of cam-locks at all. Ive seen em jam up and be almost impossible to get un-done.

Look at tech rules for most sanctionining bodies of racing and camlocks are not allowed. I was looking at the KOH rules last week and they only allow latch style locks. Same reason why people prefer the latch style window net mounts vs the push button seat belt style. When you latch it you know it is secure!

another vote against cam locks

I couldn't get out of one due to dirt/moisture in the cam lock mechanism

I only needed to get out to winch but I had to do it 5 times and each time I needed the drivers help and it took 2mins or so. Not what I would want in an emergency

That is why I plan on going with the 2" Impacts cause they arent so cumbersome. Might make me want to wear them more.

Love my crows! I dont have the built in pads but even after 5 years of abuse they still rock and havent even faded much in the sun.

All I can say is avoid RJS. I bought 3" lap and 2" shoulders in red. In 2 years they've faded bad and frayed, not pleased. Latch has worked flawlessly however.

That's because they were cheap ass ebay harnesses.
