I scored a large piece of smoked lexan type material ( I know I know it scratches up ) I wanted to put it in my firewall for little winders.. whats the best method to cut this stuff ?

It seems highspeed would smoke and burn it up and Ive never fooled with it.

Skill Saw with a regular saw blade. Although if it doesn't have the protective coating on it you will probably scratch it up. You could probably put masking tape on it where the saw will run so you don't scratch it up. Hope this helps! thumb.gif

Yep skill saw with the fine tooth blade. I've also used my sawzall with a metal blade.
And even if it has the protective wrap still on it, go ahead an lay some masking tape down over where you plan to cut, and draw your cut line on it.
2 reasons, 1 it is easier to draw on masking tape, and two the masking tape will protect the Lexan from scratching.

How thick and what color?

If any of you guys ever come across any Translucent Red Polycarbonate, snatch it up and let me know. I've looked everywhere. Heard the trick is to heat it and soak it in RIT dye.
