that's just puttin A finger on it... there was a bunch more that came out.... :gtfo:

Yep---that is out of my quad... it's a Honda TRX 450R.. When I was putting the hot cam in it, I did not clean the cam gear bolts thoroughly prior to putting lock-tite on them... they backed out during break-in and carved a circle in my valve cover(aluminum) then broke, cam gear/ timing chain fell off and locked the motor up. Luckily I was in between shifts when this happened----otherwise I think the damage could have been catastrophic. I have the motor pulled apart and I will be spending tonight putting it back together. There was tons of fine fine fine metal shavings in the bottom end. I brake cleaned the ever living **** out of it so I think everything should be fine. I'm going to do a couple oil/filter changes prior to our next dune trip memorial wkend.

CLEAN the **** out of it and IMO have it tanked. It would be in the back of my head each time I hit the start button on that hooker

all's you got to do is... see, that motto gets you in trouble... my method for ALL of my bolts are to blow dry the hole, clean them w/ brake cleaner, run a thread chaser in the hole, cleans all of the old loctite out, brake clean again, air dry, clean the bolts w/ a wire wheel on the grinder, clean them w/ brake cleaner and air dry, then pour on the RED loctite.... make sure you use non chlorinated brake cleaner, its the flammable stuff....

It runs... hoping it'll last the weekend. I've been changing oil and filters like a mofugga past couple days.
