Stopped and looked t these things. I own a Can-am 4wheeler, any feedback on the side by sides? It looks damn good.

That biggest Polaris is a great looking ride also...Worth the extra 2k? Prolly won't be racing...never know though.

THe XP Motor is unreal. Power is so much better than the 800.

If you JUST rockcrawl, the "S" will make the XP its bitch, but that is the only place it is superior.

I can make an XP my bitch climbing in my "4" but if they came out with a 900 or better 4 I would get it.

Not crazy about the height of the XP and the trailing arms but holy ****, that motor outweighs any negatives. It is a monster.

I didn't drive either. I was just looking at them. I love my Can-Am 4 wheeler and thought the side by side would be nice also. I think they had them priced $2400 different the more I think about it. This is new to me, thought I'd ask and see what ya'll thought. Thanks for the replys! thumb.gif

Ive had an Outlander 800 and HATED it. The visco lock front diff is junk, but it was faster than any other atv I know of. I sat in a Commander for the first time yesterday at Mtn Motorsports, and that thing is nice. The XP is great for wide open trails and tracks, but through the woods and tight race courses the Rzr-S will own an XP, I know because BudgetYJ and myself both race our Rzr-S, and our lap times are significatley faster than the XPs and the Commanders. If it was for trail riding and not Hardcaore wheeling, then Cammander would be better for the price. If you plan to race, rock crawl, or wheel hardcore, then I would buy a base Rzr and get an aftermarket longarm kit. It comes with all the parts you will have to replace anyway, better axles, a-arms, bushings, and shocks.

These are not facts, just my opinions.

I've got an XP and love it. Wouldn't chose anything else.... motor is awesome and still does great on trails. Really shines at the dunes though.

Alot of that has to do with driver not machine

I agree the driver has alot to do with it, but at least 4 XPs and at least 2 Commanders are in the series. Both machines will wax a 800 "S" in a straight line, but the tight cornering and handleing of the 60" Rzr seems to be slightly better.
I dont want to give the wrong impression here, if I had it to do over again I would buy an XP or the new Arctic Cat. I have put enough money in my Rzr to buy an XP and improve the handling, and still have all the XP power.

I'll agree with Travis. Good chance you and your buddy are just better drivers. I can kill most in our group in the trails and climbs, and Travis is right there on par until a straight opens up for more than 20'. He's gone in the xp. In the super tight (60" minus), he has to jack it off and I can ram him, but I still say the same EXPERIENCED and FAST reaction time having driver can whoop ass in an xp. Bonus points if you don't care about plastic.

After more thought....I'll never have time to race anyway. (other than playing around.) Hell...I barely have time to mow my yard.

Another plus for the Can-Am is the bigger bed. I could sell my 4wheeler and use it to hunt too. I'm gonna go back, drive a couple and go from there. Thanks again guys!

Can am's visco lok sucks sucks sucks. Its also tippy. I would not want one. If you dont care about speed. Get a s and a little trailer to do house work.

The biggest draw back to having a rzr for trail riding is that you get covered in mud easily without doors. The commander is more comfortable in the driver seat and the controls and gauges are all user friendly. It does feek a lil top heavy, but I havent ever driven one. Test drive em and get what fits you best. I bought a canam atv because other people said it was the best, but I didnt like it. Its a big investment and they all 3 have good and bad things about them, so decide how you will be riding and get what fits.

I drove and jumped a can am. I was scared jumping and cornering. The straight line power is the ****. They drag ass bad on climbs with a harsh transition at the bottom.
The front diff sucks.
Its comments like that let me know I made the right decision buying a rzr. :****:

Rereading, it came out all negative. They really are fun, I don't doubt a blast at the dunes, etc, but on our track and climbing the super tight and vertical hills we do, there is no comparison to a rzr. They are cushy and comfortable, have a huge trunk for tons of beer and a dump bed. Truly a badass machine. When you need to pop up a straight climb, rzr is where its at
