Any of you guys run Bio-Diesel? There is a gas station in town that sells it and its considerably cheaper, I am thinking about running it. Are there any side effects or anything I need to know?

Poor fuel mpg. I can burn E85 in my truck, but I get about 12 with it. When I run regular I get around 16 in town and 20 on the highway.
That is all that I have heard bad about it. Someone did a post on it a while back on CAOS I think.

Wonder how much MPG drop you would get with Bio? I have never seen a station that sells it around here

Bio and E85 are completely different makeups.
E85 has all of that ethanol in it. Ethanol is like alcohol burns cooler and faster, meaning it has a totally different energy value than straight gasoline. So that is the mileage drop you see by running the E85. It takes more ethanol to get the same energy value as gasoline and thus you have to burn that much more of it to do the same amount of work.

You will notice a decrease in power, a slight decrease in mileage, You will have to change your fuel filter more often (a lot more), you and your truck will smell like ****, and if it gets on you it may cause a rash. My company dispensed bio for 2 years and of the 10 employees that handled it, probably 8 always had a rash. Other than that it helps the farmers and the environment.

less than mild decrease in power, smells like you're burning mcdonalds french fries, Insane lubrication value. with the ulsd out, there lubrication in todays diesel is non existant. bio breaks loose all the **** that dino diesel put in your lines, and everywhere else all of the years. It will clog filters like crazy for the first couple thousand miles. carry one with you always. after that, it's good. Its good **** and good for the truck because of the lubricity.

I put it in my truck for the past 2 days, no compaints yet, slight decrease in power nothing worth worrying about. it does smell like french fries cooking, but I kinda dig the smell of fries.

There was a "processor" or whatever you call it on craigslist a couple of weeks ago down in homewood or hoover for sale. I'll see if I can find it.

Edit- I guess it has been taken off but here's another one in indian springs

Why only in the first couple of thousand miles? What changes after that.
