So I pulled the pan, the nut on the inside of the shaft that goes through and connects the outer linkage to the inner linkage came loose. it let the little S shaped piece fall into the pan and it stopped shifting. I'm guessing its been loose a while because it flopped enough park didn't work after I put the tranny in. finally an excuse to change the fluid and filter like I should have done 4 months ago when I put it in

potentially, but what fun is that ??? I wheeled the old gray bomb for 2 years without brakes, now that's wheelin excitement!
