bleeding hyd clutch

any tricks to bleeding out a all new clutch set up on a 85 blazer ?

Yes.

The same as all hydraulic clutches...reverse bleed.

In other words, feed fluid in from the bleeder valve, that way it forces all air up in to the master which is where it wants to go anyway.

what kind of pump would you use for this Brad ? Hes (son) been using my vacume pump and getting clean fluid but still mushy pedal (barely working)

if the master is anything like the YJ master it'll bleed itself within a few pumps.

As far as bleeding have someone push the pedal, open valve then close when they hit bottom, repeat until no air. My YJ takes a few good, no air, bleeds to get the pedal right.

Thanks brad that worked after we hooked the vac. pump up to the line between the master and the res. stuck a hose on the bleeder and drew fluild from a jar :cheer:

I'm sure glad your son was doing it cause I was convinced anyone your age was beyond learning how to bleed something as so technologically advanced as a hydraulic clutch :fawkdancesmiley:
