What is the break in time for front gear sets?

I mean, most folks rarely to ever use their four wheel drive so it doesn't really equate.

I have trashed several front gear sets. Those however have been in an "always spinning" front differential. No real load applied to them.

What about a re-gear when they are only offroad or in a regular joe's automobile where they won't receive a break in. Just use?

How do these gearsets fare?

Just pull the rear driveline, and front drive the rig to break in the gears like you would for a rear diff....

if you have locking hubs, just run around town in 4hi with them unlocked. it wont load them, but it will help lap them in and heat them up

Karl you just need a R&P that's bigger 'round than a coffee cup......Given that I'm soon to replace my front 60 R&P.:booo:

for wheelen dont worry about break in. break in is when they break and you replace them.:awesomework:

Bummer.

I'll be getting the Dana 60 this time next year.

It's funny I'm allowed to say that now. From about January till October every time I said "Dana 60" in the presence of my wife I had to pay her a dollar.

on a street driven application they say 500 miles, change the fluid and your good. But being its a wheeler it prob. isnt going to see high speed. It would be a good idea to have a magnetic drain plug. I never did a break-in with my 529

Yes and yes.

With broken parts to boot.

I'm sure Randys Ring and Pinion has had enough of me.

I know they are Randy to replace parts and all, but Micah is gone and it ain't happening so well.

I still have a jobber account there and might be able to help but **** man you keep ****in with that 1/8 ton bullshit.

if you must do the break in predator style, bare rim with a belt running a garbage pump :awesomework:

great movie
