Broke down in Iowa City

My father in law is broke down in Iowa city. Technically he's still rolling. He's limping it to a Ford dealership but has 30 miles to go. A shop he stopped at said its throwing codes for multiple misfires and bad coil packs. Ford dealership thinks it's the Ecm and says it'll be a few days. Anybody out that way that might be around to help him out? Looking to possibly leave his truck there a few days, or maybe run to a junkyard and snag an ecm. Possibly crash over night. Dealership said 2400 to fix it. Trying to talk him into just getting a rental and leaving the pos in Iowa.

He's 30 miles from I.C.? Which way is he going?

I'm close to Davenport, which is 45 miles away from I.C. If he gets over this way I can help out.

I appreciate it man. He got a rental car, left his at the dealership, and drove home. I'm headed up Friday evening to drag the piece of junk back.
