I cleaned it up, ground all the old weld off and clamped it back in and re welded it in, came out good and the knuckle turns freely

The guys in florida with the big mud trucks do it from time to time. I have even seen the 5 ton kingpins busted...Seems like someone on Chucks Trucks made support that captures the top and bottom of the kingpin..

So you welded it back in and it turns freely? Did you use any type of jig?

no i didnt use a jig, the king pin sits in a machined boss, like .001 slip fit up in the knuckle, it wasnt all galled up, just ripped the weld out, so i ground all the old weld off and used a C-clamp to hold it back up in with the alignment of the slip fit to hold it tightly in place then welded it back in... seems to have worked quite well and the weld looks way better than the old factory weld but i havent wheeled it yet to see if its gonna hold, i cant see why it wouldnt, just wondering if anyone else has had this same issue with Rockwells, Ive run em for 4 years and never seen this, ive broke other stuff but not king pins

TC actually sheared all the spindle bolts. Not often you see a tire assembly break off a rock housing!

yup thats what i did, ground all the old weld off, cleaned it up and welded it back in...looks good, taken it on a trip friday to Raush Creek so I'll see how it holds up
