Ok I ended up with a buggy that I built over four years ago reaquired from the original owner.
I need some advice on what I should do color wise and what improvements I should do to this animal
This buggy was built and the owner was supposed to take it for a shake down then bring back for underbody skid and frame powder coat and paint. Well in the mean time he lost his well paying job so none of those things ever got done. So it def needs those items. The bottom is beat up and tweeked from years of abuse.

This really is not the kind of rig I would build for myself IE: Rocks, Airshocks,49's, but it crawls incredible for what it is even if it is a little dated. And I can get it going in a timely manner

Here is whats the vehicle is equipped with
383
Manual th400
stak three speed serial #3
stock rocks front steer
2.5 air shocks x4 fox air bumps x4

Here is what I know I am going to do
strip every wire out of it( been patched on for years now)
loose 383 for LS series motor unless I can find a DOHC 4.6ltr
tear down wheels body panels fire wall exc. for powder coat
Tune on air shocks so I can live with them

So what else (I do not have a big budget here my other buggy gets the nod for the nice stuff)
Color Ideas?

hey jimmy , alvin is thinking bout gettin u to build him a chassis. so i told him about that one for sale and he was int. just like he likes bulldozer axles and big fuggin tires . so give him a call ....

First thing I would do is lose the 49's and air shocks, maybe put some Chromolly replacements axles. Other than that I would rock the **** out of it. Paint is all on you. Black Powder coat, aluminum panels.

Yeah with some nice skins and paint that thing would look sick. I would lose the ballon tires and just runs 47's or 44's.

Yeah I hear ya on loosing the 49" but 2 K in tries ant going to happen
I already have on set that I cannot sell do not need two so colors? I was thinking on murdering out the shocks wheels and frame.

I thought Alvin wasn't allowed to ride anymore?

that will be the only way he gets to ride is if he buys one ready to go . i've been ridin him like a cheap bicycle about not having a rig he's probably tired of hearin it . u should give him a call monday . maybe yaw can work up a deal

Murder it out... I had thoughts of powdercoating my airs, the RadFlo's have a crap finish anyway, think having the body PC'd would look killer ! thumb.gif

Keep the balloons and just beat it like it owes you a chiggen dinner ! :woody:

Quit stealing my ideas :flipoff1:

Don't know about the color, but I would TRASH THE IDEA OF THE FORD 4.6 right out of the gate. A 3000 HP Ford motor is nice, but it is still a FORD!!

Happy fourth everyone I decided to stay behind and work so I do not have to bum rides into the distant future.

So here are some updates from daylight this morning to now
Buggy torn down, 383 gone, front stinger gone, 49s dismounted ready for coating, and all panels removed waiting coating
Rear links out ready to be redone and hope to have the front links done by the end of the day.
I get my own fireworks from slag burning and poping in my ear... Cause I have to do this one outside we are too busy to claim anymore bays in the shop I need to get it done fast for that reason too.
Oh and she is getting a 6.0 even though I LOVE FORD MOTORS

photos last one is rear steering on my other buggy thats waiting for pieces to come back from waterjet

Damn Jimmy!!! u have your hands full with 2 buggys!!! I love the rear steer on the new ride!! bling bling!!!

Jimmy whats your opinon on the Spidertrax knuckles. You think there up to the task of South East Rock bouncing.
I have been thinking about getting some.

Yes the uniballs in them are on the same design as trophy trucks with similar weight and abuse. I believe they will hold up well based just on the visual inspection of the knuckle itself and the plate design... plus they save alot of weight.

Back on this thing ...The 8.1 liter I bought that was supposed to be a running motor had a rod that looked like a bannana. So II got kinda bumbed about the motor, and have not been working on it at all, but two big projects left the shop last week so I am feeling a little bit more motivated to get back on something for myself to ride in.

Working on the dash and new front fenders whenever I can to change the look without going overboard

update is,

that thing is looking sexy!!!!

she's a big bitch, but she's got a motor now with plenty of go.

should be ready for an unveiling pretty soon I'd say.
