I'm looking to run pane on my big block and what I have learned so far is you can get away with a much higher compression ratio. @ 11:1 or more depending on the cyl heads and the cam grind should have more duration on the exhaust. as far as a cylinder block a 2 bolt main is fine up to 500hp with the proper prep. stay away from the blocks with "heco en mexico" cast into them these are low nickel content blocks and complete garbage.not an expert just sharing what I know so far :beer:
