I have a 1996 grand cherokee and wanting to get rid of the front cv drive line and put in a u joint style drive line. What yoke can I use that will fit and what drive line will work.Any info would help.
Specs: 1996 jeep grand cherokee 5.2 litre v8 automatic with 249 transfercase low pinion dana 30 has a 2" lift...

Thanks.......

far as i know they wont work because of the yoke end. you would need a ujoint specific output yoke on your xfercase in order for this to work.... CV and Ujoint yokes are different.

also, in addition to what was stated above, the pinion yoke angle must match the transfer case output yoke angle (for a non CV driveline), otherwise vibrations will occur.... and not the good or fun kind!!

Not sure if I asked the question right but the drive lines are almost the same except the part that bolts to the axle yoke..Here is a pic. Thanks

I dont see how much different the yolks would differ from the years on D30's.... take her yolk in swap it with one of your spares...:awesomework:

just change the pinion yoke so that it will accept the u-joint style/size that you need it to fit and you should be ok...
