Club Dues: Southern & Insurance

I am looking at joining Southern Four Wheel Dive Association. Southern this year is $40. I can re-join CAOS for only $30 additional. $50 dues plus $20 in fines. I just want to make sure that a CAOS membership will get me membership in Southern as stated on the site:

-----------
Membership
Membership is $50 a year (due in January of each year), which includes your membership in the Southern Four Wheel Drive Association as well as the United Four Wheel Drive Association. It also includes monthly meetings, monthly trail rides, monthly newsletters, and your C.A.O.S. decal. There are six (6) prescheduled workdays throughout the year. It is mandatory to make it to at least two (2). There will be a $10 fine per missed workday.
------------

I do not presently have insurance on the buggy, as I have just not gone an gotten a tag yet. Do all the members have insurance on non-tagged buggys? If so, who is it with? My agent needs a VIN. I don't like not having insurance, and I can see all kinds of issues at the DMV.

Quote from site:
------
Membership is open to owners of four-wheel drive vehicles. Each member must hold a valid drivers license, proof of insurance, and meet vehicle requirements.-----

Re: COAS & Souther Membership

John, you got things out of order. First you pay your membership then you insist on the perks. Now they will either drop the Southern affiliation or boost membership fees before the 1st of the year. Oh yeah, Mike Adams is working hard to knock Scott off the top of my **** list.

Hell no, I'm negiotating. I want to make sure $40 of my $50 goes to Southern/United and *I* am listed as a member.

I hear the **** list has slippery slopes.

Yeah, that sounds even more devious. By the way you can start fresh (minus the missed workday penalty) since it has been more than a year since you were a member. You wouldn't be renewing a current membership.

I like the way Jonica quoted her post as if she had already answered your question. When in fact she edited her first post. It looks like the benefits and values of membership are still up in the air but the costs are nailed down at $50.

Thanks, I did not even think to read her post a second time.

I added:

Thanks, keep me informed. I will join if it includes the Southern/United membership. What are some other member benefits? I know about club rides. What other incentives are there?
