So I have a pioneer 12" Sub that has been sitting in my room for over a year now, I want to put it in my dub, but i also want to upgrade some other speakers too...

Part of my problem is that there have been some speakers either added or wired in very poorly, and i want that to change.

My current setup consists of:

(2) - stock dash speakers, 3" 2 ways (i think)
(2) - stock door speakers, 6 3/4" is what crutchfield says they are, but 6 1/2" will also work...
(2) - (aftermarket???) tweeters right behind the front seats b-pillars at the top of the panel.
(2) - (aftermarket) 8" subs in the rear seat cards right at seat level (I think this used to have 6 1/2"s in this spot before, but someone did some "modifying"

So My deck is a pioneer supertuner only 2-3 years old(i can get mroe info if needed) it is at least 52x4 watts...

I want to put the 12" in the rear truck space, replace the doors and dash speakers, keep the tweeters, and do SOMETHING with the rear 8"s(either replace with some 6 1/2"s or some 8" mids???

What do i need partswise to do this? I know an amp for the sub will be required but will i need a second amp for running the rest of the speakers? there are obviously only 4 sets of wires for speakers off the deck, and i have 8 speakers to run...this is where the wiring before i got to it, well, got shitty:looser: .

HELP!:corn:

Run it all thru the RCA jacks off the back of the stereo into a crossover that'll accept the amt and type of speakers you want.

then you can run an amp to the crossover?

from stereo, to the crossover, from there to the amp(s)(<----All thru the RCA's), then out to your speakers from there---much cleaner sound than thru your 'hi output' wires off the back of the radio......

The crossover takes the sound from your stereo and splits it into various catagories(hi's, mids, lows) before getting amped.....

Find yourself a nice multi channel amp. Or you will be running two amps! And depending on how hard you want your sub to hit, a 1/4 or 1/2 farrad capacitor will keep your alternator/battery from working real hard, keeps your lights from dimming when the bass hits. It's a coil for the amp. This goes in line of the power cable to the amp.

As everyone said, run everything off the preamp outputs (RCA) on the deck. Get a couple crossovers, and a multichannel amp (4 channel) with high and low pass filters built in for your speakers, and use the deck EQ as well. Does your deck have subwoofer preamp outputs? If so, get another mono block amp for your sub and run it off that. It should have high and low pass filters as well. That should give you decent separation for what youre trying to do. If not, you can always add crossovers later. We can chat more about it if I see you online too. Also, the "rule of thumb" for capacitors is i farad for every 1000 watts if I remember right, so depending on what youre doing, you may or may not need it. I'm more than willing to help with the install and wiring also, I should have a weekend or two off coming up soon. Ive done a few of these in my time, haha.
