Hello everyone i'm new here for the most part. i've wheeled for years . ""BUT" i have always been the passanger but know i wont to be the driver. So i got a yota that had a 4.3 with trubo350 and 208 transfer case well i took the motor out to see if the motor was good, and it a boat anchor who ever put it together had to much jack that night they left a one foot prybar under the manifod in the block so i got a small block 350 for it....well heres my "?" the motor is out of a 97-99 tahoe so it is fuel injection and on those years the heads are different so does anyone if they make a adapter for a carb, or a conversion manifold to run a carb or will i have to get some older heads so i can run a card WHAT ALL DO YOU"LL THINK THANKS

A carburetor is not a fix for 4x4 problems, it is the cause of problems. My guess is that you understand a carburetor more than you understand fuel injection. Read and learn the fuel injecton for the motor you have and run it.

Good advise!!! I almost put a carbed engine in my yota beings I didn't want to deal with the bs of efi, boy was I wrong, its simple once you get the basics down.

I would run that EFI setup.. they are pretty damn good runners.

Edelbrock and others do make carb intakes that fit the vortec heads.

how much more work would i have to do to run fuel injection?

Got yer pm

I was going to respond to it but figured keep the info here so in case somebody else runs into these issue.

First off--how complete is the motor? If your unsure snap a pic.

One thing you are going to have issues with--is the passlock system (security feature) .... On the 96-99 they can be bypassed so to speak--but your going to need the security module...

I'll check a price tommorow at work.... The module is desinged to work with a sensor in the steering column--but that can be bypassed.....

Dear stumpjumper;
I'll row against the tide on this issue and state that I strongly feel that you should go with a carburetor. I happen to like the purely mechanical astetics of carburetion, along with the ease of maintenance and the strictly low-buck approach to fuel delivery. In short, fuel injection SUX!!! If it ain't carbed it ain't ****, my friends!
Your never gonna get away from carbs friend;
LAMAR

lamar, i see your point i'm a old school kid, and like the the carb but then again every one esle has another good point about it . Ithink what I will do is get the adpart and satart with the carb , and thne read into injection and try it that way i can learn more and under stand more and how it works

What is your intended use for the rig? Anything off camber or uphill/downhill you will want the injection. Mud runs, carbs work fine. I would run the injection or go propane myself. But, if you need a carb Edelbrock makes a 4 barrel intake for that motor... Good luck.
