So I had an old fire stick that was beaten all to hell so I replaced it with a fancy new 102" stainless whip, I put the radio on the swr meter and it jumps to over 3. I than had a look at the coax figuring that was the problem and found the sheild wire was rubbed through in a spot so I replaced it with some new high dollar coax at 18'. I put the swr meter on and I still am getting over 3. The antenna is mounted on the bed rail right behind the cab, that wouldnt make that much SWR would it? Im gonna try disonecting my woofer amp and see if that help but I def need some help if you have some suggestions.

Oh, I tried using my buddys radio and got the same results so its not the radio.

HELP!!

It does have the plastic isolator, figured out it was the dam meter that was the problem. That'll piss ya off!!

Turns out my SWR is 1.3.

1.3's not bad, get some braided ground straps , clean the ground connections etc , 1.1 is easy in that location.
