I R the techno dumb... Does the time spent online on your cell phone go against your minutes as well ?

I havent looked at the interweb-icle type phones so Im debating on what I need to get...

thoughts, experiences, so forth ?

I have unlimited intardnet on my blackberry style phone. costs $20/mo and no it does not count against minutes on da cell.

edit, oh and getting online for forums is kind of a PITA, but doable. I don't use net much, but email a lot. Main function is when I am on the road and want to check emails or weather and not haul my laptop with me

I am using my phone to connect the laptop now. I am not paying Hyatt $9.95 a day for internet access >:(. You need a data plan, and unlimited is the way to go so you don't have to count kbs. Don't get the "Tethering" option. I can do that for free!!!!!

data plan... Ok so Ill have to research that I guess.

My objective, to be able to hit up emails and the boards breifly when and were needed.

and have a cell phone bill that isnt ridiculous laughing1

I am an idiot, how do I use my phone to connect to the net? On my long trips I will bring my lappy to make emailing easier and surfing porn possible. molaugh

smartPhone. I use the Samsung BlackJack II. I had the AT&T Tilt 8925, but hated it. My fingers are too big for the touch screen, and I hated using a stilus to dial the phone.

Don't get a "I", on old operating system. Plus the phone number pad is wierd. All numbers are not togther:

On AT&T site the Blackjack one reburbished and BlackJack Two new are the same at $99.99. Course that is with a 15 year agreement and second born. :flipgotcha:

Just as FYI...I work at AT&T and supposedly there are some new smartphones coming out this summer that are supposed to be better for what you are wanting to do. But if I had to choose now...I'd go with the blackjack II. And with a data plan you can tether a laptop to it like a wirelss modem. There used to be a good tutorial on how on the interweb.

I use an AT&T 8525 for all of my internet and phone(I don't have home internet or a home phone). I upgraded the software to windows mobile 6, can either tether my laptop or use the built in windows internet explorer. I have a billion minutes and unlimited data plan and only pay $140 a month.

Whos that through ? WOW
Iwireless, it's a division of Tmoble, not available in 'Bama, sorry.

It's a screaming deal and when I travel I have never had issues, it switches to Tmoble and even Cingular on my phone. Nights at 5 are fantastic. I talked last month for 22.5 hours = 1350 minutes and only used 200 of my 1000. I should downgrade to 500 minutes, but I think it's only save me $5

Oh and free incoming texts and $5/mo for 400 outgoing.

And not many here use it, they are all Verizon sheep.
