So I faulked up my cam in my 20R and now I get to replace it. Thats what I get for being in a hurry.

Anyway, is there anything I need to watch out for or check while I am in there? Its getting a new timing chian.

new head gasket......
Yep, might as well just do it. You'll be most of the way in there anyways, and the old gasket can pop easily if you're not careful replacing the cam. Better safe than sorry.

Check the cam (bearing) surface and caps the alum will get messed up if its been ran low on oil

Yes, I checked the caps. they looked pretty good. I got a head gasket on order. After breaking the head bolts lose and seeing drips of antifreeze run down the block I kinda figure I should take the extra step.

All I wanted to do was change the timing chain. At this rate I will have a rebuilt engine  :flipoff:
