Got the call for the vet, and he wants Zax to start chemo immediately. Zax, my boxer, was diagnosed with Stage 1 cancer, the day before we went to Monteagle (9-10). Recently, we found another place on him that they removed and it was stage 2. Man, I am not looking forward to this, but they give us very little hope without it. He will be given treatments for 4 months. :o

yeah... i just had a dog pass away while i was out of town last mon night. she was 10 years old and we got her when she was 6months old. parents/sister said she was hyper and running around then just layed down and wouldnt get up. vet kept her over night and early tues morning she had a stroke and died. it sucked cause i was outta town and couldnt see her.

she was part yellow lab, part German Shepard.

but we recently adopted a white German Shepperd that is 1 year old and resembles my old dog. she is awesome! chilled out with me in the garage all day while i was working. compressor/impact didnt even bother her.

how old is he?

Our yellow lab, Molly went through chemo last year and is over 1 year strong cancer survivor! They did not give us much hope either. My parents decided to move forward with treatment because she had become such a close member of the family over the years... Crazy expensive---cost more than my truck payment

Hate to hear about your dog man . That's got to suck( maybe he'll pull through this). Lost mine New Years day (Black Lab named Bubba) , he got off his runner and got into the neighbors yard where he found a old bucket of antifreeze. Not the nieghbors fault he wasn't out to kill anything just forgot to empty it out somewhere. It's hard to put one down that was so young and ya love so much.

Hate to hear that John, I know he's part of the family !! I hope he kick's that cancer's ass !!

Sierra had stage 2 on the base of her tail, but finally after two surgeries, they took the tail and got it. Chemo was an optin for her also but we opted for the surgery because chemo would be so hard. I hope ZAX kicks cancer, he is a super cool pup

Hate to hear that John. Hopefully the Chemo will do its job and Zax will be good to go.

Sorry to hear about Zax. Cancer is very prevelant in animalsjust as much as humans. My Bassett ,Gator, had it real bad and I never knew it and we had to put him down. The good thing about Zax, is that you have caught it early on and now can get treatment for him. He will pull through this and be back on his paws in no time. thumb.gif
