chev 63" springs.

just wondering if i can still run these since i cut the frame off right at the rear spring hanger without extending the rear of the fram? also were is the centering pins at on them. are they the same width as toy springs. what years do they come in and what truck did they come out of? help me out...:redneck: :beer:

Usually the frame needs to go back I believe 4" or something from the rear hanger.

I moved mine back 3". The frame will have to be stretched a bit to make it work.

these are 64 inch chevy springs. people refer to them as 63s. the measurement is not made with springs unloaded. a 64 inch chev is 32 inches eye to pin at both ends and they are wider than toyota springs and will require a ubolt flip kit. or ford ubolt plates work good also too.:awesomework:

so a chev 64" spring's centering pin is centered. cool. now i just got to get the springs and figure out how to stretch the frame without making it look like ****.... so if i were to run a double shackle set up would the top shackle lay against the frame to the front or to the rear of the rear spring hanger. im thinking to the rear but just wondering from someone that has done this.:redneck: thanks again for the help....hows the stomper comin?:eeek:

I have never liked double shackles(they open up and are noisy). but I am heavy on the throttle too. you might be able to mount the shackle hanger on the back of the bed and run a little longer shackle. if you have drive shaft length issues now is the time to move the rear any if needed to keep your current shaft happy. locate the front hanger where you need it, then measure 64 inches from that (longest the spring will ever be). then kick your shackle back to about 45 degrees or more. just be sure at 64 inches from front hanger, the shackle is not angled so much that the spring will overlock it. then mount the shackle hanger.:awesomework:

the stomper is at my moms from x mas. I took it over there to run down trees with my nephew. only problem was I forgot to make a power steering pump adj. bracket. I was so wrapped up in other stuff I got the pump mounted and belt on and tightened it up and forgot all about the adj. so when you get over 3500 rpm it spits the PS belt. I figured this out after the third donut.:redneck: we still had fun clearing the woods. this thing has **** ARBOR DAY wrote all over it.:fawkdancesmiley:

I am picking it up today and need to get the headlights and tails on. I also have to tear apart the front one more time to install the detriot. the rear is spooled and seems to go fine. it should be rediculous with the front locked up.
should get it all done by new years eve.:awesomework:

I would never install them again. They work pretty good but are just way to long and make a good rock anchor. I know quite a few people have good luck with the Ford springs, a bit shorter and flex even better in my opinion. Can't remember the lenght off the top of my head, but check out the toy section on pirate.
