chevy spring question

im putting 63" chevy springs on a toyota for my dad. they dont have shackles and i didnt pull them. so does anyone know how to tell wich end of the spring is the front and wich is the rear? or does it matter?

i dont think it matters on the chev 63s. some springs have the center pin offset.some springs have the short thick leaf longer on 1 side to combat axle wrap. just look at them,they will tell you:awesomework:

if it has a military wrap on one side like this:

that goes forward, it prevents the spring from unloading under braking.

no military wrap on these springs. best i can tell one end arches up a little more than the other. thats the only difference i can see.
