I can't imagine a bigger waste of money / space on this planet than China. You know, the thin dainty porcelain plates and tea cups that your wife ABSOLUTELY HAS TO HAVE BUT CAN'T EVER ****ING USE. They spend exorbitant sums of money on it and buy big huge cabinets for it that consume large amounts of floor space that could be used for other useful things and then just store it for no reason whatsoever. You can never eat off the **** because its too precious to ever use. In fact, it so imperative for them to own it that they often ask for it as gifts for the once-in-a-lifetime event of marriage. One time in their entire lives they get to ask for ONE THING, ANYTHING, the only time that people bend over backwards for them and they ask for fragile, expensive, useless dishes to collect dust with. WTF??? At least a lamp produces light. Why don't we put a really expensive lamp where the China cabinet is instead? Or a fan? Or a random ****ing toilet? Or a ball sack scratcher? Just about anything in the world has more use than China and the cabinets we put it in!

EVERYTHING I own in life has a purpose. I do not purchase or own a single item that is meant to simply sit there and collect dust. If I do find that I own something like that I promptly throw it away. I have never desired to own anything that does not serve a purpose.

Am I the only one who feels this way?

Re:

First off....I agree with you. Secondly, everyone will always be able to justify to themselves thier own vices.

I get funny looks and gawks when I tell folks that a single tire on the jeep costs 500$ and I can't even drive it 40mph down the road.

We have zero China.....it will be this way forever :****:

We are moving more towards a minimalist lifestyle when it comes to the interior of our home. China is ****ing stupid, country and their shitty dishes.

Re:

I remember back in my bachelor life the only silverware I had was a can of ravioli ....a plastic fork and that was it. Don't think I washed anything for a whole year once! ;)

Agreed as well. Here is another one. Sports memorabilia, just because Joe Blow wrote his name on it matters nothing to me. If I had Obama's birth certificate I would sell it to buy more dirt.

The tire serves a purpose ... granted, a non-sensical one that is probably a waste of money, but at least it serves one. China's only purpose is to sit there and do nothing but waste space and money for the rest of its existence.

I agree 100%. My grandmother drives me crazy with that ****. She goes to 3-4 auctions every week and calls me all the time to pick up her new china cabinet. Now that she has 0 space for more china cabinets, she buys better china cabinets to replace the others. All full of useless **** that will be passed down to me then thrown away.

My grandmother and dad went in together on a antique shop/ sports memorabilia buisness many years ago. I got a goddamned storage building FULL of sports stuff and comic books. 2 more buildings that are slap ****ing full of antique dishes and what not. U wouldn't believe the ludacris amounts of money people spend on that ****. When she finally dies I am gonna have her rolling over in her grave for what I dump all that **** for.

I would expand this tirade to include the actual country of China, **** them usless job stealing ****ers and all the worthless garbage they make

Have to agree on the "fine" china. However, we also asked for "everyday" china. It has been great. Had to replace quite a few pieces over the years due to breakage. But, still use it EVERY day, and have for over 34 years.

That's another thing. We do have good plates (maybe they are the every day China you refer to?) that we use a lot. But the stuff that gets used day in and out the most is the cheap plastic Wal-Mart crap that is easy to clean, light, and we don't care if it gets destroyed. (It is apparently invincible thought because the **** lasts!)

Whst zboit good ole paper plates snd them plastic holder things ??
That's what we use day in snd day out. !!!

I chuckled too. But if they were so useless why do they have all our jobs? And in that case who are the useless ones?

Re:

Use use both everyday and the nice stuff for holidays with families. I dont have paper plates, then again I dont mind washing stuff either.

Paper plates for the light dinners. Thick ass plates for the heavy dinners. Fine China has no place in our home. My wife is kind of clutzy so that **** would not last anyways. :****:
