I have a friend that I have been helping put a V8 in his 1965 Chevrolet Truck. I tried to get him to swap the 3 speed on the column to an automatic but he wasn't hav'n none of that! I have been trying to find a soultion to the clutch linkage that bolted to the side of the block on the 6 cylinder that was in there. Ther is no real place to bolt it on the V8. So I went to LMC Truck to take a look at what might have been offered back then when they offered a V8 in that truck. Here is what I found. Nothing. Although I have found that a 60-63 Truck must have came with a Hydraulic clutch. Does anybody know if I can put the hydraulic setup on this 65'?

Here is the linkage page in LMC's catalog.

You are not trying to remain STOCK are you? If not iwould call Novak and get the Hyd clutch set up they offer and mount the MC to the firewall.
If you are trying to remain STOCK then you might have to call LMC and get some help from them. I'm sure they have heard and done it before.

LMC has no tech help of any kind. They just sell parts. I tried to get help from them already. Here is the thing, my friend doesn't want to spend anymore money than he has too. The clutch rod comes through the floor and I was wondering if the 60-63 models have the mastercylinder in the same location or is it higher up on the firewall? If it comes out through the floor I can modify it to work. Higher up on the firewall more work and more money. i wish he would have put a auto in it in the first place. Thanks.

Is it like a C60? I have one of those at the lake I can look at. It has a 283 sm420 (i guess) I thouyght the rod passed thru the angled part of the floor to the pivot that mounted to the frame and bellhoousing then to the pushrod that engaged the clutch fork. The Ball mount on the bell screws in and most older bells have the mount.

Yes you are right, it passes through the angled part of the floor and the bell crank attaches to the frame and then on the 6cyl a bracket that mounted to the motor. I was looking at it tonight and the bellcrank lines up perfect to a flat spot on the block, but it is not threaded. It is a 350 out of a 84 truck. So my thinking is that the newer blocks just dont have the threaded hole for the bellcrank? I may just have to build a bracket and angle it slightly for clearance?
