I am about to try an put a rear end out of a second gen 4runner in my 85
pickup an was wandering if anyone else has tryed this, and is it worth
it in the long run.
also should i just leave the upper spring perch set up in the runner or should i try an cut it out an try to fab it into the ass end of my 85???

Why not just swap a pick up rear end in, then it would just bolt in.

If you are going to link it the stock link mounts and locations are going to limit your flex. You will find that for serious flex you are going to start over with the link set up anyway.

Not worth the fab time to swap 4runner suspension onto your truck. If you got the axle for free and have the means, cut brackets off and weld leaf spring perches on. Other wise spend the 100-200 bucks for one that will directly bolt in.

lol no guy's i already have a stock 85 yota axel in the rear,
i just thought it would be easyer to swap it out for a 90+ 4runner cuz it has the coil bucket's already on it.
but thank's anyway's.

to try an get it to flex the best i can afford! lol
unless anyone know's how well stock xj or commanchee leaf's
work in toyota's????
please keep in mind that it's only me doing all the work so real tuff fab
work is kinda outa the question for right now.
although i would love to build a real trick truggy an all
my buddy's arn't into the same style of wheeling as i am so im kinda the lone
ranger in this department.

You can get really good flex with chevy half ton springs. There is a good rite up on how to do it on Pirate 4x4. It will only cost 50-100 bucks and is easy to do.
