85 runner. gonna lift it... 4 link front w/coilovers or stick with leaf springs...
Clearly the coils are more dough.. are they worth it?

36"-37" tires is the goal

I've got stock waggies front's on my toy and they flex killer......Am planing on 4linking the rear and leavin the springs up front for the time being since they are working really well and I like the way they are working for now

for strength and probally close to the same, if not better flex than four link, chevy leaf the rear

chevys blow, ive seem them at work on the trail and i thought they would be good, but they blow. i have toyota rears up front setting about 3" of lift on 35s, my front end droops alot but my shocks limit the drop. i personally use rears and build your height with mixed lifted leafs and link it later. Dont get me wrong i would die for a set of SAW up front but also you need to have link geo. on key, you can have the right parts but having them setup poorly can make it useless. Also is this a trailered rig or something youll drive ocussionally. Think every aspect before you choose.

X-2, Hey Steve I have a set of toy rear setup for the front and a set of the 56" chevy for the rear that we can slap on to see if you like them. I even have an extra set of spring hangers and shackles for the rear

this setup worked great together.

good feedback

Thanks everyone for the feedback.. I may take you up on that Rick! Thanks! I took the axles apart again and going with 5.29's and longfields in preparation of the lift.. Doesn't look like anyone here is doing backflips for coils over a nice spring setup..

There is a point where leaf springs dont make much sence. You will know the day. Until then get some good springs and work with them.

As Bunk just stated---you will know when you are ready. I ran a very well built leaf sprung rig for a # of years. I have been running coilovers going on over 2 years and will never ever go back...

i have quite a few buddies (bdi) that run 63 chevys and love em, iv never seen em give em any problems. they get damn good flex too, and its a little easer and more reliable to slap on a complete spring pack, rather than putting a set together, not knowing if they will be dependable, flexy or tough

I had some 63" s on my truck and they worked pretty dam good, but they are too long for me. They are 4sale if ur interested:flipoff: , going to links :clappy:
