iam really kinda stuck should i 3 link and use coils in the front and revesed cut leaf in the back ? or any of you guys have a suggestion tell me what you think or run all leaf . this is for my 88 jeep wrangler with a lt1 small block:mad::mad:

Air shocks if you can afford it. If not I have a set of TJ front coils I'll sell you for $20:awesomework:

What axles are you running too. If it's not full width up front you'll have to C-notch the frame to make coils fit. That's why I suggest Air shocks.

i have dana 44s out of a wagy

Coils wont fit upfront. They work on a TJ because the frame is narrower upfront than a YJ. So you would have to notch the frame and redo your motor mounts. This is why I went with air shocks upfront. Currently in the rear I'm running TJ coils. But I think air shocks are in the near future. Even with AS's in the rear I'm going to have to notch the frame.

Leaf's aren't that bad. I ran SUA leafs for years and did very well. But I got tired of breaking them. Linked is soo much better :D

you whouldent no were to git som lift spring whould you i just have custom springs that i put together but did not git to much lift

At least mine is on the trail more than 2 months out of the year. And i wont need to worry about that problem anymore.
3" LC springs upfront SOA
2" toy p/u springs rear SOA

Look at yours, now look at mine. I've been building mine for the past year. Before that I was out there every month all over the state.

Look at mine?
Home built under a month good fab work wheels great and only minor issues.
And I am pretty sure both rigs have about the same capability and we will find out once I am done with my cage.

"BUILT NOT BOUGHT"

"BUILT NOT BOUGHT"

What is that suppose to mean? Trust me mine is home built too. I'm not saying your rig isn't capable. I know it is. But I have put a lot more $$$ into mine than yours and to be honest it shows. There's nothing wrong with your rig or suspension they both work. I was tired of leafs and breaking them and wanted a new experience. I wheeled all over this state with my leafs being SUA and had no problems doing it. I wanted a smoother ride and longer wheel base.

Wati til you blow out a shock and then wait till you break a link I say keep it simple I can drive my **** home if a leaf breaks simple fix but if nothing is conecting your axle to your rig how do you get that home? I just am really a fan of leaves on trail rigs links have thier place I just dont think it is on a trail rig.

HIJACK OFF
Sorry bout my pissing contest.
Just playing with ya john dont get all hard on me.

I'm just saying been there done that.. it's time for something new..(for me at least, your still young)

We have been wheeling the same amount from what I have read of your posts. I bought my first wheeler in 98. No mine will be getting alot of modernupdates this feb no more debt all going into the jeep tell it is done.

well thanks i think ill run sau s for awhile and see how that works for this winter but my intentions are 3 link in the front 4link in back .just want to go try th lt1 in the snow so ill go the cheeper rout for now just want to go wheel

How the hell do you break leafs that often? I have ran leafs sua and soa and have never broken one. Ive noodled a ton of them but over time. I like leaf sprung rigs because they are more reliable and simple. But i did like how the coils would keep constant down pressure but the leafs would handle alot better not so wishy washy. And nate you cant knock it tell youve tried it and you have never had a linked rig.

Watched alot. And you can knocn reliability before. Would you run a C-clip axle now that you know what you know about them. No i have never tried it never needed to. I am sure the geometry and hndling of a rig that is linked is great once the right spring rat is found but Trail fixes arent as simple.

Id run an 8.8 like rays got and their c clip. Ide also run a cruiser rear and their c clip. My old man just got a 99 tj tonight and im gonna swap in an 8.8 in that.
