Ok, I'm tired of dealing with damn extension cords in the shop. It seems like it's always tangled, hung on something, or twisted up with the weldeing leads/plasma/ air hose/etc. ::) I need to get some good cord reels, or at least one to start with. I found a Flexzilla 50' 14/3 reel for $92.50 w/free shipping on Amazon. It seems to get decent reviews. I'm looking for opinions/reviews from guys who use their shop for something other than making some **** out of pallets their wife saw on Pinterest. :gay:

So what do you guys use?

And here's the one I'm looking at.

Re:

I've got one from HF that I like. Think it's this one: http://m.harborfreight.com/40-ft-retractable-cord-reel-with-triple-tap-61558.html

Get you a 20% coupon and even better.

This is next on my list in my garage. I just put up a hose reel for my air hose and it's been the best thing I've done. I hate hoses and chords. If it was something you wanted to try to snag you could never do it but you can get a damn hose or chord snagged on the impossible.

I've got 1 of each mounted in the center of my garage from the ceiling. It's great and I plan to add more in my next shop

I'd also like to find one for my 220v drop cord. Make moving the welder around that much easier.

The one you posted is only 14/3, it wont like running multiple grinders at once...

I'm not talented enough to run multiple grinders at once. Lol

But for pretty much the same money I would take the 12/3 cord even though you're giving up 10' of cord.

Hey, around here we tag-team when possible, two 6" metabos tend to make lots-o-sparks and tripped breakers :****:

Sacrifice 10ft for the bigger gauge.

It's usually just me working around here. Nobody likes me enough to come to my shop. laughing1 It's like I'm an asshole or something. :****:

The bigger gauge wire would be better regardless though.

I've had a Bayco cord reel catch on fire, but after four years of use. It shorted out internally where the contacts spin. That said, we use these at work also and they are cheap and reliable. The springs don't seem to get weak.

We also use ReelWorks air hose reels at work and I have them at home. They aren't the best, but compared to Cox Reels, your wallet doesn't hurt so bad. I have the oxy/fuel reel at home and it is one of the best shop purchases ever. If you get one, get the torch quick disconnects and you can remove the torch so it isn't hanging from the ceiling.
