OK so i have a crazy idea that i wanted to share and get some thoughts on. There is now and will continue to be issues with the EPA and other environmentel agencies directed at the off road community. So with that said, how bout each of us in our own counties in which we live petition for a specialty plate promoting off road activities.
There are all kinds of plates out there from the arts to save Radnor Lake so i thought why not our sport. The money generated would go to any public offroad park operated by your local government, such as Tellico, or others. The money could be used for erosion control or general trail cleanup and maintence.
So what do all of you think, have i lost my mind or is this a great idea???????????????? pepper.gif

I like it - they're actually thinking of opening a city owned park here

problem is you'll have to step everyone thru the process of setting it up. I'm sure each county is different and there will be varying levels of support for something like this so I wouldn't expect a govt worker to hold my hand in the process.

I was involved with the Cahaba River tag. We had to have 2,000 sold to do it. We had a grant to get it done. We bought the upgrade ($50) fee for anyone that wanted a tag. So, a LOT of money involved, plus several thousand with 3M, the only approved vendor, for design. Bright side, it does allow $8 to $10K per month in revenue now. I don't see us ever being able to pull off the legistics, but I like the way you think!
