I just moved up here, I have been here for about a month, I want to get some wheeling in. I bought my M1008 back in 09 for 1100 bucks. I put an ORD flip in the back with stock burban springs with zero rates and 4 inch rancho springs with a zero rate. I rebuilt ta 2wd steering box and added hydro assist with a rock ram, WFO cross over steering, longer brake lines and went from crappy PJ Dirt grips to some Good year Military tires. I tossed in a bolt in cage I for uber cheap and added some 24v Truck lites. I dont want to smash up my truck I just want to get some good trails in and explore east oregon washington and maybe go camping in Canada.

Im not sure If i want to do a motor swap or turbo my 6.2. I plan to add a winch and other stuff as time permits.

I like your truck. I was looking for a CUCV when I found my K20. Now I am having to source out all the cool stuff your truck came with (Detroit Locker, Dana 60, Hydro-assist).
As far as your winch plans go, are you going to modify or swap the bumper? I took a rear receiver hitch and cut the end plates so it would fit between my front frame rails. I replaced the factory front cross member with that hitch and welded it in. I cut a 3" x 3" square out of the bumper behind the license plate. I built a winch cradle and lock it up with a locking hitch pin. I found some 2 gauge copper jumper cables that were 20' long. I ran the wire down the frame to the rear. With Anderson connectors at either end, I can run the winch front or rear. Smittybilt makes a license plate bracket the clamps on to the roller fairlead.

There is a guy on CK5 that sells a cool winch bumper that replaces everything i have, I am not sure i want to keep my grill and bumper but if i need to i can live with out it. I have thought about just mounting one behind the bumper also.
