Well the time has come to build my trans in my truck. It's a 06 Quad cab just had the motor build 2 months ago it's basically .50 over nothing special. Has a Smarty S-06 programmer and a new Turbo. I'm sure some of the guys on here have went through this before, so I'm looking for some advice on what I should put in it to make it hold up. I'm gonna go billet converter and shafts. But what brands do you guys recommend? Most I pull is a 40 foot goose neck with 2 Jeeps on it. Thanks in Advance :dblthumb:

So is this the kit y'all are talking about? There website says they no longer sale full transmissions? What brand converter y'all recommend?

I ran their convertor as well...

Re:

Converter n all from gorend.

Hit up ashley black out of Adairsville ga if you want a built unit. But for the mechanical sound person it's fairly simple build.

That is correct David gorend does not build Trans no more he only builds the parts which in my opinion are great hands down and yes they sale do it ur self kits but if u don't want to built it ur self u can call(lavon miller) Firepunk Trans and like said above (blacks Deisel) Ashley black and they do complete builds from mild to wild I have been to both guys shops and know them very well there good folks! But Ashley is very hard to get ahold of

Miller? Is this the one in Eva? Arab alabama? Something like that anyways? If so that's who I was thinking he has built a trans 4 me before and prolly gonna take it there. I have never been in a transmission and sure the hell ain't gonna start on my tow pig it needs to drive when it's done. But thanks for the input guys I'm ordering the gorend converter and kit tommo :dblthumb:

If ur not planning on making a lot of power a billet input and billet flex and triple disk converter and a good valve body and that should be all u need u will never break a stock intermediate or output shaft towing unless u go with bigger injectors or turbo down the road I have a couple ppl trucks I have built still running stock shafts beside the input that are making over 550hp with no trouble

^^^good advice. That is still a spendy build but that grocery list will take anything you ever throw at it, unless you are going to get stupid crazy with the motor at some point. There is NO cheap route, but you wont have to have the trans failure in the back of your mind, and that piece of mind is priceless.

Check out Ultimate. They are gurus and do some really cool stuff, have an amazing warranty and are great guys. (give them a call they'll tell you more than you ever wanted to know.) As already mentioned Goerend is quality stuff and good people. I have heard good things about Firepunk as well and they are probably closer to you than the others.
