I'm contemplating this swap on my 97 OBS crew cab. I found a truck(OBS 90) that had the swap done, but th cab was so rusted, he pulled the motor and put it in 6.0 truck. The 90 still has the 5 speed, T case, all teh brackets and accessories to bolt on a 12 valve. I can get this truck cheap. I've been researching what to do to my 7.3, you either do a little mods(up pipes, AR1.0 housing, WW2, and tunes approx $1500) or you do the throw down and drop $5000-$7000(turbo, intercooler, injectors, hpop, fuel system, tunes). For what it cost to hop up the 7.3, I'm well beyond teh price of a 12 V swap. My truck is a 5 speed, and after having a 99 E350 7.3 van with an auto, I prefer the auto with the 7.3. The power band on the 7.3 is very narrow, having a converter to help when needing a little more power to go around beats down shifting with the manual. I will probably do the minor mods for the time being and start collecting parts for the eventual 12 valve swap
