About two weeks ago I had a caliper hang up on the cherokee, so I stopped at an auto parts store and swapped in a reman one, then just tonight the other caliper stuck and heated up! Are these calipers problematic? Should I get some aftermarket ones?Who makes decent replacement ones? The cherokee is only a beater car and sees mild wheeling duty, just don't want to have problems that could leave me stranded!

I had problems with my calipers on my YJ sticking (axle out of a cherokee) but never had it totally lock up. Sold the axle before fixing it. That is the only problem with these calipers and I have had a handfull these rigs...

Dana 30 axle lenghts???

Doe's anyone know the Dana 30 uni-bearing front axle shaft lenghts? And the Rubicon uni-bearing also. You know like the TJ, YJ.
THANKS

On a stock rig, that happens fairly often.

I had mine go out on me, and less than 1000 miles later the other side went out.

Replaced with Vatozone lifetime warranty and haven't had any problems since.

Yep I went through calipers regularly with Dana 30 in both an XJ and YJ. Calipers loaded with pads weren't much more $$ than just pads, I had calipers crap out with almost full pad left.
Its worse if you go in the mud.
Stay out of the mud. :redneck:

Just last year when I was coming down off the mountain from hunting, MY XJ's right front caliper hung up,causing one HELL of a pull to the left when I hit the brakes! Didn't give me any warning either-went to NAPA the next day and picked up a pair of remans and some new pads/rotors & installed 'em--no prob since!!!
