I'm starting on my doubler this weekend and have a question.

First of all I'll give a little info.

My rig is a stock Nissan V6 = 2 motor mounts.
Stock nissan tranny & T case. The aft support is 1 rubber mount on the tranny. The transfer case is cantilevered out from there.

I'm turning the Nissan case into a reduction box with a Stak D300 behind it.

I'm thinking thta i'll need to run a support off the output end of the D300.

do you agree?

Any ideas of how to support this? Is there a ring of sorts that i can purchase for an aft support? I COULD build something, but i'm limited on time to complete this modification and i'm looking for a "good, quick fix" (quick in my book doesn't mean crappy, just that i don't have to build it)

I have a permanent cross member that will be just below the output of the D300.

any suggestions?

not sure if anyone makes what you are asking about for a 300:eeek:

but when i mount my 300 in my yota i am going to build an X member like most aftermarket company's build for toyota transfercases,

one that uses most if not all the tail housing bolts then run weld some bushings on the ends and a couple brackets on the frame...

clark W is down in your neck of the woods i am sure he could buzz a center section out for you in no time:awesomework:

thats pretty much what i'm looking for.

If i was runing an aftermarket tail houseing there are a Plethera of companies tha make a "ring".

One of my worries is that with the rubber mounts up front, and using a poly buishing in the back, ALL of the torque would be transmitted to the D300.

As i have always been taught, if you run poly busings, use ALL polly bushings, if tehy are rubber, use ALL rubber.

Hmmm.. what to do.....

thanks for the imput..

anybody else wanna give thier 2 cents?

[Hyjack]So are gonna be runnin the tx-10 reduction box an adaptin a Stak 300 to it...where r ya gettin the adapter so i can note for future reference?[Hyjackoff]

North West Fab. in Victoria BC.

its expensive. and i don't know if they have any more.

I was in on a productoin run 2 years ago..lol

you can get a Nissan tranny to 6 bolt adaptor now, but you couldn't when i started gathering parts.

That would let you go directly from the nissan tranny to a D300, np205, atlas, stak.. etc.

hmm... now you got me thinking.

the nissan tranny output to the nissan case is MUCH stronger than the jeep setup.

In additon, the transfer case is alot beafier.

by turning the nissan case to a reduction box and adding the D300 (with adaptors and all) its with 1/2" of the original lenght. A little heavier but not much.

What do you guys thing about just changing all my mounts to Poly?

or should i leave them rubber?

Do you have room to make a crossmember that bolts to the d300 and suports it from the top. Thats the way the (rock crawler chassies) are.

no, no space jaws.

after doing alot of research, it appears that everybody is against putting in a 3rd mount.

i can see why.. not sure if i agree 100%, but i'm willing to take others advice on this.

worst case i break the tail end of my tranny (doubtfull), I have a spare..lol

well, NOBODY
makes or sells poly busings for my rig. making a tranny mount is no issue, motor mounts will be a nightmare... so i think that i'll just run the stock ones (newly replaced)
for now. i have never replaced my motor mounts, tranny mount was replaced this year with a better used one.. so.. maybe just update

if you don't want to swap your engine over to poly bushings quite yet, you could always go old skool and weld a couple chains to your motor mounts/frame. i did this on my toyota for a few year DD and wheelin with no problems. stock motor mounts suck because your Dtrain moves around so much you no

ya, tis my tranny mount that goes the fastest. Honestly my motor mounts are still good. But i'm going ot change them anyway.

I've had it upside down and all was good.

sloppy motor mounts cause premature tranny mount failure.

An engine rockin around on rubber mounts wil tear a tranny mount right off. If the tranny is poly and spread apart from each other and not chained up front something will give eventually.

as of right now all 3 are OEM.

if i change any of them to poly, i'll change ALL of htem to poly.
