As Karl said it really all depends. I have been told the same thing but I still built my D44. I am running a V-8 too w/5.13 gears & 35" tires. Might go to 36-37 tires but that is the biggest.The u-joint you are running in your D30 shafts are the same as what are in your D44 and that will be your weak point. This is the main point of the D60. If I start having problems my plans are to go with the ARB 35spline & run D60 knuckles.
