was there an actual question in there?

35 spline? 40 spline? front application, rear application? there is not much to discuss, its a pretty dumb device given all that is going on in a steering axle

Pretty dumb to have drive slugs on a steering axle? Please explain why. I am obviously doing it wrong on all levels at this point. My sons 48 Willys has them, the Buggy will and so does the Truggy.

Re:

I think he meant dumb device as in there is nothing to it. A slug, c-clips, retaining ring, cover.

sorry that came out wrong, dumb as it there is no tech there, everyone uses them and there is not much going on.

i use them and love them, definitely not dumb decision.

EDIT:if we were talking d60 lockouts, then there is more to discuss.

Re:

Ive had good luck with Warn on Ford D60, CTM external on Dodge, running. CTM internal now. :dunno:

I've run Solid flanges for many years. Never an issue. Heck nearly everyone has them to offer, they aren't rocket science.

2013 Wide Open Design WFO
Next one is in the oven!

I have broke two. A Warn that the splines slipped/stripped. And a DynaTrac, it sheared all the splines out of the flange, they came out looking like little triangles about an inch and a half long. Both probably good products, Everything has a failure point except *****.

on topic:

ive always considered them the same 4340 slug. find the cover art you like and run 'em. ive had the Poly Performance ones for years. ive never actually seen one from any manufacturer break.

Re:

Wow this thread has taken a turn. No I was asking if some has the link saved by any chance.

The thread was about d60 slugs, pro and cons. Can't remember who started it.

But ya, seamen ruins a *****. DESTROYs!

Wish mine had the option to take out and screw cap back in... Sucks duck taping covers on when doin hot laps round the hood... I think if drive shaft wasn't like a jump rope spinning at speed.
