Okay so I'm new to this axle swap stuff, but I have a HP 44 it is a 8 lug axle so my question is.

Can I keep the flat top 8 lug knuckles, and swap it out to a 5 on 5.5 bolt pattern? With out swapping to the f150 knuckles? Can I just drill the f150 spindles out to the bigger bolt pattern on the 8 lug knuckles and run the 5 lug rotors and calipers

I pretty much have everything for both sets except for one f150 knuckle.

So my question is, is this possible and what will work and what won't trying to conjoin the 2 setups

Are the knuckles different (where it bolts to the spindle) on the 8lug vs the 5lug? Are the spindles different at all? I'm not familiar with the Ford d44 parts. On a chevy or FSJ axle (8 to 6 lug), you just grab everything from the spindle out (including the caliper mount) from the donor and bolt it on. I'm not sure if the ford parts interchange the same way.

If you could find a late model ford f150 supercab then you would have both without having to worry with anything

i have converterd the chevy 8 lug 44s to ford 5 lug before but never a ford 8 lug. If I remember correctly on the chevy I had to order either a big bearing or small bearing spindle to work with the ford hubs. Cant remember which one but other that that everything bolted right on

The only real difference in the spindle is takes a bigger bearing on the rotor side and the bolt pattern where the spindle bolts up to the knuckle. So could I just drill the 150 spindle out to the 250 knuckle pattern.

Just get you some 5x5.5 to 8x6.5 adapters for the rear and be done with it.
