So to make a long story short I have dana 44 calipers on the rear of my rig with chev 1/2 ton front rotors. Now to get this combo to work I had to run the wider dana 44 caliper-- and by wider I mean the area for the rotor--but for the life of me I cannot remember the aplication they came off of. Anybody remember an aplication? Getting old sucks :booo:

Don't you have the smaller caliper like off a monte carlo? with the half ton rotor? that iis what I got I think off a 78-87 monte if I recall I'll go mic my rotors if you need to know if they the same.....

you running the same caliper front and rear?

Then you running just like a 73-87 half ton chev p/u caliper?

2 wheel drive trucks have the wider rotor... I just looked it up. :redneck:

Thats what it is--I have 4x4 calipers on the front(narrow) and the rears gotta be 1/2 ton rotors :awesomework: I knew there was something because the 8 lug 44's use a different style of rotor... Now the question is--are the damn rotors metric or standard on the banjo bolt on my rig :haha: Unless all the 2wd stuff is standard( 10 bolt fronts are metric)

It all depends on the year... You know that as well as anyone.. :P (Pre 79 I think) is all standard and everything after that is what was on the shelf... :haha:

When I did my rears, the rotors are from an early 90's IFS Chevy, but I HAD to get the application from a regular-cab truck or the rotors would be too wide for the Monte Carlo calipers. So it doesn't sound like the same thing.

Opposite :awesomework:

So I ran to highway auto--those guys are great for having knowledge past the aplication. Found 2 different wide 44 calipers--one had a bigger piston. And they had them on the shelf :awesomework:

you better get that chit written down in your little black book of info before you're too old to remember where you put that. Then just tie it around your neck so you don't lose it:fawkdancesmiley:
