So which do you think will break first? Before you vote, the sami tcase will be behind a 2.9/fm146/bw1350 combo. :redneck: :corn:

The transfercase would also be fully cradled/skidplated, with at least 3 mounts, maybe more.

I voted dana 44 from personal experience. I have had no transfer case problems yet but have broke the **** out of both the front and rear dana 44's in my rig. Chromo axles seem to have fixed the problem though.

For the record 16v to kick 5 speed to kick t-case to sami case with mighty kong mount. No trans mounts just the motor mounts and the mighty kong. Spools in both axles.

Good info, thanks. :awesomework:

So to add a question to a question, which is stronger, Dana 44 or 10 bolt? Both fronts fwiw. :corn:

A D44 is marginally stronger, if for no other fact that a pre-89 10-bolt front is 28-spline vs. 30 spline. Dana has a slightly larger pinion bearing, and uses pre-load shims vs. a crush sleeve.

And fwiw, I'll be testing a 1.6 16v with a sami t-case and front and rear D44's on Saturday.:D

Rocks and zuki t cases don't go together well right kris :fawkdancesmiley:

Went together fine for the first 4 years. I will admit that the day there at the end could have gone better... I really should have stole Shawn's skid plate when it was at the shop. :D

the weakest point on the zuk case (other than the housing) is the front output shaft and can be upgraded with a 93-95 front output shaft. trail gear sells them for $90.
