okay so i feel like a tard right now on this but my jeep has the dana 60 hp ball joint from a 97 f350 underneath it and im trying to figure out what i can do with my brakes because if i put a brake brackets on the knuckles it sticks the spindle out further and when i put my drive flanges on it pulls the axles shafts out and the dont sit center of the c and knuckle any input on this i would gladly appreciate

97 f350 knuckles should have the brake caliper stands cast into the knuckle...

Why are you putting brackets on it? 1/2ton brake conversion?

was planning on putting the 3/4 ton brake conversion on it but that aint gonna happen it doesnt look like just wondering if i could keep the stock knuckles and just run a factory brake set up and still be able to use my 15inch wheels

you could build some caliper adapters and run some Toyota calipers, or I'm sure if you put a regular GM 3/4T caliper on there, you could build an adapter bracket between the factory stands and the caliper.
Something kinda like this piece that Currie sells

Some generous grinding on your stock brakes would probably give you enough clearance...

Re: dana 60 ball joints

Wonder if anyone has tried to make a set yet cause if not just get a piece of plate steel and I suppose make a braket

My 02 F-250 as factory 16" wheels. I need to see how close they are to the calibers.
I'm building a balljoint (99-04) 609 front axle and the factory brakes are big and heavy. I have 16.5 wheel that clear but 3/4 ton chevy calipers would be nice.

Does the Currie bracket reuse the F-250 rotor?

That bracket is actually for their wilwood/Toyota setup, I just posted it as an example.

I wouldnt pay what they want for a flat piece if metal anyway.

Re: dana 60 ball joints

Steve hudlow gonna take a look at it and price my driveshafts while I'm there so win win

Re: dana 60 ball joints

Got the opinion early that I could take my snap ring off my stub shaft and put my drive flange on and let the shaft move around and float back and forth and I was told to shim out the drive flange had anyone done that before

Re: dana 60 ball joints

No 4340 Yukon shafts and Yukon spindles and the factory 8 lug hubs it's just irritating trying to fund a solution sorry for not mentioning I had Yukon shafts before on that

I had a 97 ford front 60. I kept the stock brakes but ran drive slugs without clips and had no issues with the ujoints. The ujoints were stockers nothing special and they are still out there running around after several years of use.
