I ordered a 60 front for my K5 build and was looking at Welding or Spooling it and spending the money on Hydro assist or Full Hydro steering instead of a selectable locker.

I'll be running a twin stick 205 so I'll have 2Lo.

What do you people think?

Are you using locking hubs or flanges on the axle? Welded frt. ends are a bitch to steer and it wont be streetable anymore without hubs.

I know it will be hard/impossible to steer with the spool but i was hoping the hydro steer would offset that.
Fullsize Chevs dont steer for $hit and even after adding Cross Over steering I'm still dealing with the stock pumps limits.

Like Ben said earlier but must have deleted the post, hydro will help turn the wheels but the spool will still make it plow. If you only need to go straight like mud bogging and such then it's just fine. Longer wheel base helps too.

Even though the ram can turn it by brute force, you'll be putting tons of extra stress on the entire front end. You don't need a selectable locker. A Detroit would do just fine.

If its the ben I'm thinking of he has a habit of doing that.

Anyways, I guess a Detroit is the answer so far :cheer:

I'm not a god yet but I'm working on it :D I need more time and money:mad:

Anyways thanks for the info Guys.
