what is the O.D. of the tueb for a front dana 60, chevy, ford,whatever... Just want to see how it compares to a 9" tube dia. :awesomework:

depends on the 60... some rears are 3" 1/4" wall some are 3/8" some are 3.5 3/8" wall. fronts are 3-1/8" 1/2" wall generally but some can go up as much as 3 1/4 to 3 1/2" depending on year or what it was designed for or the application.

Ok, Ya I need to find out what size my 9" tubes are, if I want to build a 609 front. Just want to knwo which might be an easier route.... new tubes into the 9" (ones gonna have to be done regardless to get the offset)

I just realized... I think, I'll have to check this out, But I could use a fullsize chevy housing as a donor for axle tubes? :eeek: I think they're the same sizes... I remember crusty saying something about the housing i sold him a few years back that it was a 1/2" wall and 3" dia. I think............:eeek::eeek::eeek: Or is it a 2.5" I can't remember....
