Well, I've been calling diamond axle housing for over a month now. Typically it's a friendly reminder that I'm scheduling a wrenching day around his delivery and that I have a run coming up. It was supposed to arrive last week, which was nice because it gave me two weekends to get my act together. No dice.

Then it was supposed to arrive this week. Which was ok because I should be able to get the internals of one axle moved over and have the truss, link brackets, air shocks, etc. welded in place over a weekend. No dice.

I'm not sure when I'm going to have it but my Harlan trip at the end of the month is looking pretty sketchy. I'm bummed.

You're probably right. :dunno:

Here's some more bad news about that $6800 2004 4x4 duramax with 180k miles......

I'm excited. So break it to me, was that price for real?

friend: alright here's the scoop... the company was looking to sell the truck quick in order to put some cash in the bank, it's become kind of an extra truck, and with one of our largest customers owing us lots of money, it would make things a little easier, well yesterday am we signed a new contract and have freed up a lot of cash and now they aren't looking to sell it, but to trade it in
yea that price was for real, it was just kind of an emergency thing that is no longer needed :-(

me: damn

friend: i'm sorry man [/quote]

See what they will get on trade and offer that if it is not too high. But they will probably want to trade it for help with the taxes on the new vehicle.

That occurred to me too. Also, I'm guessing they will get a good bit more than $6800 on trade. Finally, I'm not sure I believe my friend on this whole deal. I don't want to badmouth him too much but he's not the sort of guy where you can take what he says to the bank. I like him and we've wrenched together but I know him from a 4x4 club, it's not like we've been buds since high school or anything. I'm considering this deal over and done with.

On a somewhat lighter note, I mentioned to my wife that the truck fell through and she said, "Well you'll just keep looking and when you do find something you'll already be pre-approved by me."

I guess that's something. :)
