Advance bought carquest months ago and their parts have been getting better. They bought world pac last year and can get a lot of dealer parts cheaper than the dealer. We got a tacoma hanger bearing from them cheaper than the dealer this week, came in a toyota box, also got some BMW window regulators from them recently too.

Been that way in ol Jville for a while now. Automotive shops will carry carquest name and regular customers have advanced box or some **** like that is what we were told but when I go in the store they have carquest brands on the shelves on the floor so who knows... It all comes from the same supplier CHINA & MEXICO anyways... which is B.S.

we buy from Autozone mainly. Today we got an alternator from Advanced and it was boxed in a carquest box. yet the alternator had motorcraft on it. lol WTF?

Picked up a few cans of brake cleaners at advanced last week and they had car quest on the labels. That explains why.

I use to swear by autozone for parts but when I can always find a coupon code for 30% or more off an order why on earth would I shop anywhere else?

Manufacturers sell off surplus parts they have to parts stores. We had the airtex rep come by one day with the advance guy, some pumps they sell are factory parts reboxed. It works out better for them to buy a hundred factory pumps at a discount and rebox them and sell them instead of set up tooling and stuff to manufacture a small amount.
