I own a 94 gmc 6.5l diesel.( not happy with but must last one more year)
at above 2000 rpms it gets this pinging sound that is not always there. It is light but bothersome. Can't tell if something I should worry about or not. Just wondering if anyone has herd this before on another 6.5 . Thanks.

mORE than likely its either an injector or a pump issue. Unfortunately until you pop all thye injectors out and blow test them you won't know but--more than not its a lean injector thats causing the louder than normal rattle..

It has new injectors Installed them in may. No change. Think its the pmd but my next thought is can I install a manual injector pump instead of the electonic pump and get away from all the troublesome electornics

You can use an infrared thermometer gun thingy and point it at the exhaust of each cylinder. The hot ones have good fuel the less hot ones dont.
