Last week in preparation for this STUPID fox hunt delio that I hosted at my house, I was pressure washing my house and found a leak. Directly above my TV in the den. Anyway, I roasted my Direct TV box, flat screen and TIVO.

I buy a new TV, grab a spare TIVO and then scrounge up another Direct TV box from another room in my house. When my parents lived here they had TVs in every room. I don't watch the stuff much, but hey, the kids like SpongeBob.

So, I hook up the box but it has no card. I order a card. Card comes 5 days later. Turns out, the box is still in Dad's name. No go.

I have to go to Dad's phone to cancel said box. Now it has been 2 more days.

Call tonight and they can't grasp what has transpired over the last 7 days. Turns out the box is leased or some **** and it cannot be cancelled.

I try to act interested and wonder what the **** someone that is a TV head and watches sports on TV or worse, "Dancing with the Stars" or "Grey's Anatomy" would be doing at this point.

I ask the person on the phone if they have the number for Dish Network and when they don't I hang up.

Now, I cannot find my account number to cancel this MOTHERFUCKINGCOCKSUCKING DIRECTTV satellite account.

13 hours of work followed by this.

So now they tell me the 2 boxes I cannot find are going to cost $55 each when I cancel.

I just let Rhashid have it.

Let's see what they come up with. Still on hold. Started this process 76 minutes ago.

What the hell is a linear line up?

Yep, Direct sucks. I had it for 2 years, then got Dish and have had it for 7 years. They have been great and helpful when I had an issue.

Dish is no better. They are only good when you pay and nothing goes wrong. "Customer Service" is the name over a door, not an actual department. :dunno: I almost lost my service due to "Stealing service" when I moved a receiver to my RV. I was treated like a criminal.

A couple of times when I have had an issue they were great. I have had the service a long time and have no complaints.

Mine has been good, but have not had to call them. Thats about our only options here anyway, if you want anything besides PBS.

I cancelled it again.

Supervisor called back and said they would send 2 new boxes and cards and I can toss this old **** in the garbage.

Damnit. I don't even like TV.

You think the TV portion of Direct is bad, try getting dry humped with their Hughes satellite internet service. For $99.00 they will come and install your service. ($689.00 actualpaid) Now for their lightening speeds, they make Crawl Mag look like they are priniting in your own basement. All this for a low $99.00 per month. Unfortuately there are no other offerings in my neck of the woods other than dial up, and they are starting to look like a better option at this point. :flipgotcha: them all.

I have never even looked at DishNetwork, didn't know they were any good. DirecTV has a ton of HD channels and good programming, plus I know all their damn channels

If you do not like satellite, call 806.853.8084, we can build cable or telephone anywhere. ;D
