So I finally put Chases TRD back together Friday night. He brought his DR650S ( The Dirt Busa ) to get it and left the bike for me to check out. Man that thing is so damn fun. and 10bux will fill the tank to boot ! Heck yea.

I ran it outta gas is how I know what it takes to fill it up. laughing1 Doesnt have a gas guage and I was just enjoying the ride and she sputtered out on me, I pushed it near a mile before someone that was pulling his harley into the garage asked me what was wrong, he put a little gas in it and sent me on my way to the gas station.

Good Times, Im going to ride it to work this week a bit and see how it feels commuting. I got behind a Mustang coming home and he was playing and took off so I kept with him a bit, I took it to about 105 indicated before I slowed it down. I think it would cruise comfortably around 80 if you were traveling distance. I've never spent any real time on a "Dirt Busa" ( Dual Sport ) but have always loved them. Im glad Chase is letting me spend some time on it, its a really cool motorcycle.

:afro:

I rode it into work today, dayum for highway use I need a street bike helmet. Im sportin Chase's MX lid that he has that matches the bike... HOLY SUCK BALLS on the highway. My neck was already sore from welding/wrenching under the buggy this weekend but damn, a dirty bike helmet at 70-80 kicks yo ass !

That mother will kill you it. I have proof. Followed Jrich one Sunday through Sipsey to Gardandale trails, then hit Porter Pipeline in Adamsville all the way to 269. I DIED at least 18 times that day. Rode almost 150 miles almost all of it was offroad. Forgot to say I hadn't been on anything on two wheels with a nobby in about 10 years. :'(

Dual sports suck for highway. Unsure how I put 20K on my KLR mostly highway.

Keeping the KTM I think and adding a damper and go through the carb this winter. Bike is WAY too much fun to unload.

I dont know if Id say "sucks" I mean obviously it isnt made for highway use, but you sit pretty comfortable and with all the wheel travel in the suspension it rides pretty nice I think.

The tall stance and lack of wind protection makes it "work" you a bit more, but its a fuggin street legal dirty bike, I expected that much . molaugh

Id like to spend some time "off road" with it, but at the same time , Id rather not since its not my bike. I know me, Ill try to ride it to hard off road and dont wanna hurt it.

I need to not ride it anymore after today, else chance buying it. skully

Yeah suck was a little harsh. They are meant to do road and dirt GOOD, but nothing great in either. Compromise bikes, and can be damn fun as well. The stance is great for seeing traffic and being seen, I think. Ride great, but yes the wind can hammer you. Rain really brings the suck as well as low 30* temps.

i've put 600 plus miles on mine in a weekend several times...
300 there, ride trails or whatever, then 300 back..

And dirty bike helmets are the business on the interstate as long as you take the visor off... 8)
