I am attempting to organize a run in Disney (in October) - 16+ miles, timed with check points, shotgun start, 15 invites. If you are interested please send me your email address and I'll get you the letter regarding the run.

Any idiot knows I don't wheel, or so I thought. molaugh Sooo anyone want to loan me a buggy, it'll be fine.............really. :flipoff1:

Internet famous YO!!!

I am glad to see more events like this shaping up! 15 invites is quite small.

DC-1
Run Date: October 3rd, 2008 (yes, a Friday)

Striving to satisfy a “need for speed” we are inviting you to the first annual Disney Circuit. To avoid problems with this “group of friends” get together, we ask that you do not speak about or publicize the run. This is not sanctioned or “organized”, just a group of avid off-road enthusiasts with a friendly wager surrounding who can run the circuit in the least amount of time.

The circuit will encompass most major obstacles in Disney south and east of the Pensacola dam. This means the famous rock obstacles, stretches on the river bed, and trails in the woods. The exact course will be revealed to confirmed participants approximately 4 weeks prior to the run. The estimate for length is over 16 miles at this time (subject to change).

The basics….
• Invite Only
• 15 vehicle max
• $20 / vehicle in the pot for the winner
• Shotgun start
• Timed run w/ manned check points
o Take whatever route you want between them â€" but go through them all
• Winner takes all the “donations”

Safety

Everyone understands the risks associated with using a vehicle off-road. Since we would all like to enjoy each others company at the end of the day this run will promote safety.

This is a public area and other vehicles may be present who are not participating in this run. The main reason we chose a Friday was to avoid this as much as possible. It is each person’s responsibility to judge these situations accordingly and do the right thing for our hobby. Please be responsible. If necessary keep your distance, signal, slow down, or wait.

Required
• Minimum 6 point roll cage surrounding all occupants
• Helmets for all occupants to be worn for the runs duration
• 3 to 5 point harnesses for all occupants (lap belt plus should restraint) to be worn at all times
• Minimum 1 fire extinguisher per vehicle
The additional cost is minimal, so we STRONGLY recommend using these
• Neck Brace ($30)
• Window nets ($30)
• First aid kits ($10)
• Trash container

Chase / Support
• Chase & Support vehicles are permitted
o Limit 2 per team â€" gentlemen agreement here as it will be hard to enforce
o The limit is an attempt to reduce traffic in the area
• At no time are chase and support vehicles allowed to impede a participants progress
o Reports of this will be investigated by all drivers after the race and could result in a DQ
• Pit set-up
o The circuit map will provide 2 designated pit areas for vehicles
o These are recommended for use by all teams as it will provide for better fluid control, support between teams, and easier clean up.

Rules
• No alcohol or drugs are allowed for participants during the run
• This will be an all at once, shot-gun start. The first to the finish is the winner.
• There will be no time penalties assessed â€" only DQs if necessary
• All vehicles MUST prominently display their ASSIGNED number (1-15)
o This will be used by volunteers to mark when a vehicle passes a checkpoint
o Volunteers will acknowledge verbally and physically that they have witnessed the vehicle and checked off the vehicle number
• Checkpoints
o Each station will have a minimum 2 volunteers to witness vehicles passing through
o It is the drivers responsibility to ensure checkpoints have recorded their number passing through
o Each vehicle must pass every checkpoint or it will result in a DQ for that vehicle
o Again, it is the drivers responsibility to make sure they have been witnessed at check points â€" this may mean slowing down or stopping, yelling, hand waving, etc.
o At the end of the day all checkpoint volunteers will collaborate to confirm the winner and finishing order (this could take a little while)
• Vehicular contact permitted â€" but not recommended
o It is understood the there may be contact at bottlenecks or when passing
o Safety should always be first and foremost in every ones mind
o Aggressive contact resulting in complaints will be reviewed by all drivers after the run and could result in a DQ
• Route Marking
o Routes will be marked with tape where possible
o Checkpoints will occur at well known locations (top of waterfall, wailing wall, etc)
o A pre-run date will be set for those interested after the course is released.

We need volunteers â€" at least 26 of them as we are targeting 12 checkpoints plus the finish line. If you know someone interested please have them contact me as soon as possible. We have nothing to offer for volunteers except the probability of good wheeling action.

Thanks for moving it Matt.

Damn that sounds bad ass. Only thing I dont care for is " This will be an all at once, shot-gun start. "
Fifteen guys in open wheels will get nasty bunched up.

Why did Dean sell his TC rig?

Why did Dean sell his TC rig?

He is building another rig without the gas ass 5 speed manual. PSC is building it for him.

He is still using the TC rig for comps the rest of the season and then the new owner gets to keep it. The guys name is Barry Beattle and lives in Granbury Texas. He also has a real nice yellow rockwell Cruiser buggy. He bought the TC buggy for his 16 yr old son

He had it at Clayton when we did the Blacksheep trail cutting trip. It is nice, but it had a lot of "Dean" select stuff on it that I don't like. Sits real high, the 5 speed with the 4 speed Atlas and the LS2 are not a good combo. Great to have all that gear with the old Zuk he drove, but not that good in a 400Hp buggy IMO.
