When I put my 4x4 on something infront is rattleing could it be my tanfer-case is going out and if so is it easy to fix?

Need to be more specific...does it make the moise in 4wd when turning, or just going straight??? Under acceleration, or anytime...Sounds like possibly a worn CV joint.

I live in north seattle. And it make the noise going straight . I thought it was my brakes follingg off but it wasn't.
